ENGLISH DAY 2010. COLOMBIAN CULTURE AND LITERATURE 
Last August 25th our school celebrated one of the most important activities of every year, one of the activities our students enjoy the most: THE ENGLIS DAY, the reason because students enjoy that activity is that they have the opportunity to show their ability not only about the good use of the English language but to show their aptitude concerning creativity, imagination, creation, that is English day: a celebration made by students for students.
This year our students worked about our literature, they have the chance to show our culture, some of the most important plays and authors work through English, so taking into account that purpose we could appreciate literary works like Maria by Jorge Isaacs, El Coronel no tiene quien le escriba, El amor en los tiempos del colera, Crónicas de una muerte anunciada, Espantos de Agosto, Cien Años de Soledad, by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, folktales by Rafael Pombo and of course the well known coffee concert a proof of our students musical talent. The English day was again the opportunity to apply one of the school emphasis, it was a time to work about the different skills of the English language. Thanks a lot to the different school that visited us to that celebration, thanks to the different parents who came to see their sons presentation, thanks to the teachers and of course thanks to the principal of our school Dr. Alejandro Albarracín Ávila and to Mrs, Teresa Rangel de Albarracín.
